Dr. Brady has been in clinical practice for 20 years with a breadth of international experience at consultant level in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

 

He relocated from Scotland on appointment as a Senior Lecturer in 2015 with The University of the West Indies and currently practices at Port-of-Spain General Hospital, Trinidad. While overseeing his tenure he is also responsible for both undergraduate and postgraduate training and has a strong background in clinical research and evidence-based practice within his field.

Dr. Brian Brady

Dr. Brady graduated from Edinburgh in 1996 with a First Class Honours in Medical Sciences. Thereafter Brian was awarded a Medical Research Council Fellowship and obtained a Doctorate (MD) in Reproductive Medicine whilst training in the specialty  He was awarded the prestigious Gold Medal in the Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) in 2005 and has been elected as a fellow this year.

After completing training in Edinburgh in general Obstetrics & Gynaecology, he pursued sub-specialty training in Reproductive Medicine at the John Radcliffe Hospital, affiliated to the University of Oxford leading to RCOG accreditation in both general ObGyn and Reproductive Medicine and Surgery. During this time he focussed on infertility, assisted conception (IVF) and advanced surgical skills with a particular emphasis on minimal access gynaecological procedures and the surgical management of endometriosis.

On return to Edinburgh on appointment as a substantive Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in 2009, he further developed surgical expertise in benign gynaecology with the laparoscopic surgical management of advanced endometriosis, fibroids and hysterectomies. He contributed to setting up the Edinburgh Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Centre, a multidisciplinary team providing patient centred treatment of all grades of endometriosis. He also had a pivotal role in the provision of care to infertile couples leading them through their journey to parenthood.

Dr Brady is committed to the provision of a high standard of safe, modern high quality health care to his patients. He is registered with both the Medical Board of Trinidad & Tobago and the General Medical Council (UK) and a member of many learned societies including the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, American Society of Reproductive Medicine and World Endometriosis Society.
